In February 2007, The American Youth Harp Ensemble, following a ten-day concert trip to Milan, Florence and Rome, Italy in June 2006, accepted an invitation to perform for the Association of Music Personnel in Public Radio in Portland Oregon. Artistic Director Lynelle Ediger-Kordzaia brought twelve of her nationally acclaimed youth harp players from Richmond VA to perform to a packed-house public audience on Saturday night and again to fifty or so Public Radio music personnel on Sunday night. Between rehearsal and performances, time was available for guided tours of Portland, a people-centered city of elm trees, a rose festival, art and music centers, bicycle lanes, moss, and public parks and squares, all in view of the stark white watching pyramid of Mt Hood.
